Hi, I'm Dorsha

About Dorsha

am a strategic consultant that understands business from the big picture to the miniscule details. Empowered with a Master's of Business Administration and over two decades of experience, I advise clients from the ideation to the promotion of their brands.  In my most recent position, I served as Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations, for Global Health Connections International (GHCI). While in this role, I provided executive leadership, strategic direction, and tactical implementation for all of GHCI's corporate communications, marketing, brand management, and public/media relations. I developed and implemented GHCI's marketing plan to increase public awareness and understanding of GHCI’s mission and programs; to enhance the organization’s public image; to attract donors/partners/students, and educate GHCI’s constituency.

Leveraging my expertise in business development and marketing communications across industries, I empower my clients to create, communicate, and deliver value to their target audiences. My ability to influence both decision-makers and diverse audiences began over 20 years ago, when I was selected as the first executive managerial trainee for Baltimore’s top-rated WJZ-TV Channel 13. Moved by my greater sense of social responsibility, I leveraged my broadcasting experience for at-risk youth advocacy in the following leadership positions Fundraiser, Public Relations Director, Global Affairs Coordinator, Acting Public Information Officer, and Executive Director.  As an intuitive self-starter, I have helped organizations develop fundraising literature, advocacy programs, and special events to foster positive donor relations. I have served on the MD Governor's Board for Consituent Services, Board of Directors for New Jerusalem Worship Center in Baltimore, Maryland (Secretary) and University of Virginia Black Alumni Club of Atlanta (President).  As member of National PTA Association, I am an active parent liaison and classroom volunteer at my sons' schools. With a credo of "born to be a blessing", I support various causes including: Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Atlanta Day Shelter for Women, The Salvation Army, Word of Faith Cathedral, American Cancer Society, and Susan B. Komen.

I am a proud alumnus of the University of Virginia and the founder of its first black alumni club, UVA Black Alumni Club of Atlanta (2005). In my leisure time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, writing, and spending time with loved ones. I am the blessed and proud mother of two sons.

Fun Fact: I co-hosted a show called Young Critics that aired on Maryland Public Television. I was responsible for scripting, videotaping, and editing the show.
