DORSHA GROWS

On Mother's Day 2021, my first garden bed was built as a gift to me. Because of my father, I had a green thumb when it to flowers. In fact, I won money from competitions for my former community's GREEN THUMB Competition. Although, I grew hanging herb baskets when I lived in an apartment, I had never grown fruit or vegetables.

My first season gardening (Summer 2021) was at times disappointing because of pests. I planted yellow neck squash and zucchini to no avail, vine borers got the best of them, but I also planted Jalapenos, Swiss Chard, and Eggplant.
In my 2021 Fall, I planted savoy cabbage and Brussels Sprouts and both crops did magnificent. As we began preparations to move, I skipped having a Spring 2022 garden, but did drop seeds for a Summer 2022 garden. Summer 2022 was a season of firsts for me; it was my first time planting: Holy Basil, Black-Eyed Peas, Little Fingers Carrots, and Blueberry Tomatoes. I was gifted Black Turmeric, Moringa, Stevia, and Longevity Spinach.

For my Fall 2022, I dropped more seeds: Honey Boat Squash, Detroit Dark Red Beet, Russian Red Kale, and garlic. I plan to grow potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, and cabbage again. #peekaboo
